Bath and Body Products
A Great Add-on to Your Candles
Bath and body products seem to go hand-in-hand with candles. Maybe its because beautiful scented candles and gourmet scented bath and body products both provide an atmosphere of pampering and indulgence.
Many small home-based companies that produce candles eventually find themselves stepping into the world of spa products as well, or vice versa. Often this is spurred on by their customers, who love the scented candles that they buy and ask "Do you have body lotion in this same scent?"
Soon they're researching recipes for home-made lotions and creams, and busy mixing and testing products.
Many of the same techniques and marketing principles that you use in your home candle business can be used to sell a bath and body line of products as well. If you've already started your production and selling of candles, then adding these other products to your existing line is fairly simple, in the sense that you already have an existing customer base to sell to.
And you may be surprised at how eager your customers are to purchase some of your new products!
What if you're not producing your own candles, but are buying candles wholesale instead? Or maybe you are producing your own candles but feel you have your hands full with that? Don't worry that this means that you can't expand your business in this way. There are many small, home-based businesses that you can purchase exceptional, home-made spa products from at wholesale prices, and like the candles, there are even many that will do private labeling for you.
I'm lucky in that the company that I buy my wholesale candles from also produces a wonderful line of gourmet bath and body products as well, including soy bath bars, soy body balm, and soy hand wash and body wash. When I made the decision to stop producing my own products and to go with this company instead, part of what factored into my decision was that they had both candles and spa products. I don't worry about the private labeling with them, because they have their own brand recognition. If you'd like to know what company I do business with, contact me here.
There are so many ways to expand your home candle business using scented bath and body products - gift baskets, bath accessories, and aromatherapy products will all fit in nicely with your existing line. The key is not to bite off more than you can chew, but to add these other products slowly as you grow your business. Your customers will be delighted at your expanded offerings, and you'll be delighted with your business growth!
