Home Interior Candle Decorating Ideas

Adding candles to your home is a quick and inexpensive way to add flair, fragrance, and ambience. When decorating your home interior, candle arrangements set in unique groupings can really make a statement, whether the look you're going for is understated or elegant, or something in-between. If you like the idea of changing up your decor every so often without lots of fuss or expense, decorating with candles is a great way to do it.

Home Interior Candle Decor Idea #1: Platters of Pillars

One pillar candle on its own is nice. But for a more dramatic effect try grouping several pillars together. I like to use pillars of different heights to add visual interest. To create this arrangement, use an elegant tray. home interior candle 1

It can be glass or metal, or maybe a pretty mirrored or cut-glass tray. Arrange three pillar candles in the middle of the tray. Add some accents to your candle grouping by placing polished stones or sea shells on the tray.

For a holiday themed arrangement try adding some Christmas balls or sprigs of holly around the candles, or maybe even a set of battery-powered mini-lights. Set your arrangement on a coffee or end table. It also makes a lovely centerpiece for a dinner party.

Home Interior Candle Decor Idea #2: Spruce up Your Jar Candles

If the label on your jar candles doesn't strike your fancy, use inexpensive greeting cards to replace them. Simply choose a greeting card whose design you like and cut the front of the card out, or just certain parts of it if it's a large card.

Glue the card pieces to the outside of your jar candle and you now have a beautiful accent for your home. Using a greeting card as a label on a candle intended as a gift is also a great way to personalize the candle. Try using a "thinking of you" or "thank you" card on your jar candle to express yourself with your candle gift.

Home Interior Candle Decor Idea #3: Mirror Tricks

Do you have a sideboard or fireplace mantel with a mirror hanging above it? If you do, then you have the perfect staging area for a mirrored masterpiece. Place a small grouping of votive candles in glass holders on the table or mantle in front of the mirror. Or try a grouping of pillars on a tray or mirror as described above. The mirror will reflect the lit candles and double your candle power instantly. This mirror trick creates a wonderfully warm illusion in any room.

Home Interior Candle Decor Idea #4: Line Them Up

votive candles in a row To create a super simple, yet stunning centerpiece for a dining room table, line up votive or tealight candles in a long row lengthwise across your table. Use matching candle holders for an elegant effect or spice it up with a more eclectic look by alternating between two or three colors in your candle display.

Home Interior Candle Decor Idea #5: Easy Ambience

There's nothing like a roaring fire to take the chill off a cold winter's night or set a romantic mood any time of year. If you love the look of a fire but hate the hassle of lighting one and cleaning up afterwards, why not replace your messy wooden fire with a wax one?

Simply take five or six large pillar or jar candles and arrange them in your unlit fireplace. Light the wicks and enjoy the flame and fragrance of your extra large candle lit evening. It's so much simpler to just extinguish the candles when you're done!

These 5 quick candle decorating ideas are easy to do, yet yield big results. Do you have any other ideas for decorating with candles? I'm sure my site visitors would love to hear about them, and so would I. Share them with us here.
